Recently Ahmed Rahim, co-founder/owner and Flowering Tea Visionary at Numi, personally visited the Flowering Tea Artisans in China. It was important to him to meet with the artisans who create these incredible teas himself and ensure that they are being treated fairly and paid well for their excellent craftsmanship.

			Mastery Behind the Magic Each flowering tea is hand sewn by artisans in China. While the leaves are still fresh they are assembled into small rosettes. Then dried flowers are dampened with a bit of water and secured into the center of the rosette with a small piece of cotton string. Finally the tea leaves are skillfully twisted, enclosing the flower and creating

the shape of the tea bud. The entire process for one flowering tea bud takes 7-9 minutes from start to finish. It was important to him to meet with the artisans who create these incredible teas himself and ensure that they are being treated fairly and paid well for their excellent craftsmanship.

Although the flowering teas are not yet officially Fair Trade Certified, by visiting gardens and manufacturers personally, Numi embodies the values behind the Fair Trade Movement. The workers and artisans that produce our teas generally receive wages 30% higher than the average worker in their area. more on this... During his visit he was also able to capture some wonderful video of the Flowering Teas as they were being sown which we hope to share with you soon.

			Spice Up Your Holiday Season with a Numi Tea Party It's that time of year again. When everyone is getting the sniffles and there's nothing better than getting together with good friends, family or co-workers and sharing a hot cup of full-leaf tea. We're looking for Numi Devoteas like yourself to volunteer to host a Numi Holiday Tea Party. It can be simple or elaborate, fancy or casual-but creativitea and originalitea will win you extra points. Whether artsy and hip or white glove and tie affair-you bring your friends, your creativitea and imagination, and the tea is on us! All you need to do is reply to this email or contact us with your idea for hosting the perfect Numi Holiday Tea Party, your anticipated number of guests, and your address. We'll select the lucky devoteas and shower them with enough Numi teas, teasans, and flowering teas for everyone at their party to enjoy.
