From the Alchemist

At Numi, everything we do has a deeper meaning and is filled with lots of creativity and inspiration. Partnering with farmer's is the first step, and this carries forward in our entire supply chain, including our various suppliers, financial partners, our staff, our products, our customers and finally with you.

I personally find inspiration while visiting the Tea Gardens, while doing Yoga, sipping on a cup of our Chai blends, or knowing that there is something special I can share with my loved ones during the special moments we exchange. Take a moment and be inspired…this will turn a single moment into a lasting memory.

Tea Tip

Did you know that teas like an
Assamor Darjeeling are actually
named after a region in India? Teas
are often named after the regions
they grow. Darjeeling is a remote
“paradise in the clouds” where lush
tea fields grow in the foothills of the
snow-capped Himalayas.
Darjeeling tea tends to have a
slightly floral taste.

It took a long time for the British to discover that the tea plants indigenous to India were in fact related to the tea trees of Yunnan, China. Since then, Indian teas such as Assam and Darjeeling are household names for tea connoisseurs. Try Numi's selection of tea from the Indian Sub-Continent which are some of our most popular:

  • Golden ChaiAssam black with traditional Indian spices
  • Indian Night – A Fatikcherra Estate (southern Indian) black tea with real vanilla bean which has been decaffeinated using the solvent free Supercritical co2 Process!
  • Aged Earl Grey – A standard on any tea menu, this full leaf organic Assam black tea ages with real organic Italian bergamot fruit creating a smooth robust flavor with fruity notes – not sprayed with bergamot essence or flavorings that create a perfumey taste.
  • Berry Black – A golden-tipped Darjeeling blended with real pieces of luscious strawberries, raspberries, hibiscus and rosehips.
  • Morning Rise – A breakfast blend of 4 Indian black teas: Assam, Keemun, Darjeeling & Ceylon.

It seems that yoga and tea have a synergistic existence with one another. Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice originating in India
that can calm the body and promote a state of ease. Having a
regular Yoga practice can help bring balance to the many systems
of the body and mind. Similarly, consuming tea on a regular basis
will also benefit the body. The antioxidants in tea provide balance
in protecting healthy cells from free radical damage, and the amino
acid – L-Theanine – promotes a sense of calm and focus.

This Month at the Tea Garden

Celebrate World Fair Trade Day & Mother's Day May 10th -11th.
Numi supports mothers and their families around the world
with fair labor practices. Send the special women in your
life, the gift of fairly traded organic teas.

I am a huge fan of your Berry Black Darjeeling Tea. I first
tried it at the United Red Carpet Club at Dallas / Fort
Worth
airport, and I was hooked! For a while I traveled
extensively and made it a point to go to the Red Carpet
Club just for a cup of your heavenly tea!

For me, your Berry Black tea is replacing soda
completely. I have not had a drop of soda in quite a
while now, simply by switching to your tea. For half
the caffeine, no sugar and antioxidants, who can
complain?

Keep up the good work!
