If you think in terms of a year, plant
a seed; if in terms of ten years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years,
teach the people.

How does Numi
Inspire You?

One Numi fan, Uta from Miami Florida, exhibits her creativity by transforming the outer wrappers of our teabags into seed pouches which she calls Seeds of Cheer.

One of the core values at Numi is
Creativity. This value is captured in the unique artwork by co-founder Reem,
which graces each box of our tea with
an image of beauty, mystery and calm.
We invite you to share with us your pictures & poetry, musings & music, artwork & inspirations. If your
submission is selected it will be featured
in the Transformations section of the newsletter and you will receive
a special gift from us to you.

All teas come from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, which naturally contains caffeine. Black tea has the highest amount of caffeine, 100 milligrams per 10 ounce cup. In the same size cup, Oolong tea contains 85 mg., Green Tea contains 75 mg., and White Tea contains 65mg. Compare that to coffee’s
250mg! Herbal Teasans, which do not come from the Camellia sinensis plant,
are naturally caffeine free.

Did you Know
that you can decaffeinate Numi tea yourself? Simply pour hot water over the tea leaves or tea bag, let it steep for 30 seconds, and then discard the water. Pour fresh boiling water over these same leaves or tea bag for a second, decaffeinated cup. Studies show that up to 90% of the caffeine in tea is infused out in the first 30 seconds of steeping.

  Camellia sinensis,
the tea plant.

Numi Pours Cups of Power & Peace
Numi was proud to sponsor the 7th annual Power to the Peaceful event--a gentle gathering in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park featuring socially conscious musicians, vendors, speakers and artists dedicated to peace on the planet. Michael Franti and Spearhead gave an inspiring performance that left
the crowd glowing with the positive energy of their music and message. The Numi booth was an oasis for the 50,000 plus people who attended the festivities. Visitors taking a break from dancing were refreshed by Numi iced
tea samples and teabags to take home. For more information on Michael Franti

Numi Delivers the Zen
Numi’s Bamboo Teahouse was the ultimate space of Chill at Alice’s Now & Zen Fest. Featuring Massage, Henna, and an array of our finest iced, flowering,
and hot teas, it was a sanctuary of relaxation for the 15,000 plus attendees. Performers at the concert included Duran Duran, Maroon 5, Natasha Bedingfield and Josh Kelley, and Numi had a backstage pass! Each artist received one of our Flowering Tea Gift Sets and enjoyed Numi’s select hot teas in the green room. Bamboo Project
In June 2005, the southern region of China was struck with the worst flooding in 100 years. In the Guangxi Province, where Numi purchases all its bamboo, the flooding took more than 600 lives, and forced the evacuation of about 333,000 people. Fortunately, all Numi’s bamboo factory workers are safe. However, these floods completely destroyed the Guangxi Province’s bamboo factory—a major source of the community’s economy

Numi is donating
20% of its
bamboo profits

to help rebuild the Guangxi
bamboo factory. Ongoing
proceeds will go to maintaining
the facility and ensuring fair
wages for their workers.
Numi is committed to giving back to its COMMUNITEA.

Hurricane Katrina
Here in the US we have witnessed a comparable devastation in the South. In order to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Numi has donated 10% of its proceeds from the Power to the Peaceful and Alice Now and Zen concerts to the American Red Cross.
