Classic Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix
Without a doubt, America's flapjack of choice is the good old buttermilk pancake, and we've come up with the perfect version. Light and fluffy. Golden and rich. And not too sweet, with just the right tangy touch of buttermilk. There's simply no other mix on the market that delivers this kind of dream-diner flavor and texture. You can use it to make both pancakes and waffles. Our mix is made with fresh, locally milled flour, sweet cream buttermilk, aluminum-free baking powder and all-natural ingredients. Each 16-ounce bag makes 25 to 30 pancakes or 9 to 12 (8-inch) waffles.
Serving Suggestions Blueberry Pancakes - Toss blueberries (or other berries) in a small amount of flour and mix them gently into the batter. Or simply top pancakes with blueberries right after spooning them onto the griddle.Banana Upside Down Cakes - Toss banana slices in sugar. Lay 3 or 4 slices per pancake on griddle in circles. Pour batter over slices. When you flip the pancakes, the bananas will be beautifully caramelized.Waffle Sundae - Top a warm Buttermilk Waffle with ice cream; drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce and chopped, toasted walnuts.Mickey Mouse Pancakes - Pour enough batter onto the griddle to make a normal-sized pancake. Immediately ladle two more tiny circles of batter so that they attach themselves to the first pancake to make mouse ears. Before serving, use raisins to make eyes and nose and a strawberry slice for the mouth.Alphabet Pancakes - Another kids' favorite. Make pancakes shaped like letters to spell out names or initials. Remember: The letters need to be poured onto the griddle in mirror writing so they'll read right when flipped.
