An estimated 40,460 women and 450 men will lose their lives to the disease. One woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes, and one woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes. However, due to progress in breast cancer research, education, screening and treatments supported by organizations like Komen for the Cure and partners like Napa Valley Naturals, the 5-year relative survival rate for women with localized breast cancer is over 95 percent.
