Are Tasty Bite products vegetarian?
Yes! All Tasty Bite items are vegetarian and include no meat or meat by-products.
Is Tasty Bite gluten-free?
Many Tasty Bite products are gluten-free. You can view which items are gluten-free by
clicking on our Special Diets section (active link). This information is also
included on each package of Tasty Bite.
Is Tasty Bite kosher?
Yes! All Tasty Bite products are kosher certified at our manufacturing plant in
India by the Kosher Certification of India. Products are pareve and are
segmented as dairy or non-dairy. Our kosher symbol can be found on all
Tasty Bite packages. The Indian rabbinical and kosher authority is
registered and governed by Israel.
What are the herbs and spices mentioned on some of our packs?
Indian cuisine is distinguished by the wide variety of ingredients
used in many dishes. One of the basics of a curry is the spice mix,
called "garam masala". Masala means a combination of spices. Garam
translates literally as hot! This spice mix varies with each recipe,
thereby imparting a distinctive flavor to each dish. Some of the
standard spices used in most mixes are turmeric, clove, cardamom,
cinnamon, fennel, etc., often in combination with other powdered
spices. Sometimes, dried herbs are used in this mix – these tend to
be coriander leaves or curry leaves. The curry leaf is a must for any
Indian cook as it imparts a distinctive flavor. The spice mix is 100%
pure and does not contain MSG, wheat or corn flour or any other such
additive to add bulk, flavor or color.
Do any of your products contain MSG?
We DO NOT use MSG in any of our products. Our entire line is all-natural
and no chemicals or preservatives of any kind are used.
Is Tasty Bite vegan?
Many Tasty Bite products are vegan. You can view which items are vegan by
clicking on our Special Diets section (active link). This information is
also included on each package of Tasty Bite.
Is Tasty Bite natural or organic?
Tasty Bite is all natural. Natural foods are foods that are minimally
processed, free of preservatives, chemicals or additives. They do not
include ingredients such as refined sugars or flours, milled grains,
hydrogenated oils, sweeteners, food colors or un-natural flavorings.
Is Tasty Bite suitable for camping?
Yes! We receive a lot of mail from campers who tell us the Tasty Bite is
perfect for camping food and treat…a tasty solution compared to other
freeze dried options. There are so many advantages to take Tasty Bite
camping. First, the packs aren't heavy or bulky and are easy to carry.
Second, Tasty Bite is ready to eat. It can be eaten straight from the
package or heated by placing the pouch it in a pan of boiling water for
about 2 minutes. When finished, empty pouches are flexible, light and
easy to carry prior to disposing them.
How spicy is Tasty Bite?
Tasty Bite uses a variety of spices in our products, and these levels can
differ depending on the item, yet they are tolerable for the average pallet.

Why are the Tasty Bite products so high in sodium?
Tasty Bite products tend to have less than 30% of the US Recommended
Daily Allowance (USRDA) of sodium. Considering Tasty Bite products are
main meal components, this is not too high and in line with daily sodium
requirements
Are the vegetables used in Tasty Bite products irradiated?
No. Vegetables used in Tasty Bite products are not irradiated.
