About Nature's PathNo brand is an overnight success. Nearly all have a genealogy. Ours started with Arran and Ratana Stephens in the late 60s when they opened a vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver, Canada. Today, more than 40 years later, the Stephens family still owns and operates the company but our products are sold all over North America and in many countries around the world. 1985LifeStream founders, Arran & Ratana Stephens, started a new business venture christened Nature's Path®. The company's first product, Manna® Bread, debuted at the natural Food businesses leading trade show, Expo West, in 1985. The proud owners are shown here operating the booth in those early days. 1988Multigrain, Multigrain 'n Raisin, and Millet Rice were the very first Nature's Path® cereals. All are still for sale today. Millet Rice has become a powerful top seller for the company. 1989Building on the success of its cereals, the company grew 800% in four years. To meet demand, a 54,000 sq. ft. organic processing plant is built in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. 1991One of the biggest products in the history of our company, Heritage® Flakes, made its debut. For years it would be the company's best selling cereal. 1995The LifeStream® brand name was purchased back from Kraft. 1997Breakfast waffles were introduced under the LifeStream® brand. 1999In August of 1999, we built a second production facility to handle growth, locating it in the United States. The Blaine, WA, plant added 70,000 sq. ft of manufacturing capacity. Staff grew to 140. The two plants total 125,000 sq.ft with an additional 63,000 sq ft. expansion of Blaine now underway. 2000The first product in our new functional food platform, Optimum™, hit the store shelves like a rocket. Within fourteen months, Optimum™ Power became our best selling cereal. Our third brand, EnviroKidz™ was launched in March 2000. Initially four cereals were released; we quickly followed with a fifth flavor and two toaster waffles. 2001On the heels of Optimum™ Power cereal's success, we expanded the concept to frozen waffles. 2002A companion cereal was released in March 2002. Demand was so sudden, 16,000 cases were sold even before the first official buy date. Our products were repackaged to reflect the new USDA Organic standards. Fall, 2002, we installed a cereal bar production line, entering a whole new business. |
