What is a Hydrosol?

A hydrosol is the pure, distillate water that remains after essential oils are steam distilled from the original plant material. Hydrosols contain very small amounts of the essential oil and water-soluble components of the plant material that may not be present in the essential oil.

Their aroma is fresh, clean and more subtle than the essential oil. Hydrosols are usually clear and have the appearance and consistency of water. This makes them perfect for a wide range of uses; add to a martini, margarita or any other alcoholic libation to create unique infusions; use in culinary dishes, such as steamed vegetables, sauces or for finishing accents.

They can also be added to the bath, spritzed to refresh or relax, used in skin care, to freshen the air in your home or added to hot or cold water, still or bubbly, to enhance the already divine qualities of pure water.
