About Mandy Aftel
Mandy Aftel is the owner of Aftelier Perfumes,
regarded as one of the most esteemed perfume companies in the world. She creates natural
perfumes based on the quality and integrity of the ingredient; choosing
from more than five hundred of the finest natural essences from around
the world. She is also the author of several books on natural perfume
including; Essence and Alchemy: A Book of Perfume, which has been
translated into six languages and was the winner of The Sense of Smell
Institute’s, Richard B. Solomon Award; Aroma, a cookbook (coauthored
with Chef Daniel Patterson), which focuses on the essential
link between food and fragrance. Her work has been featured on CNN
and in numerous publications: Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Vanity Fair,
Town & Country, In Style, Time, Body and Soul, Natural Health,
Alternative Health, Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Food and Wine, W

About Frederick Schilling
Frederick Schilling is the founder/CEO of DAGOBA CHOCOLATE,
an internationally recognized chocolate company whose focus on
sustainability and quality have garnered this young budding company
prestigious awards across multiple channels of industry and media.
In 2005, Frederick was given the celebrated "Tastemaker Award" by
Food & Wine Magazine; an award that recognizes people under the
age of 35 who are making positive contributions to the food industry.
Also in 2005, DAGOBA was given the Socially Responsibility Business
Award, the Spirit of Organic Award and the Green Power Leadership
Award by the Environmental Protection Agency. In 2004, the San
Francisco Chronicle named DAGOBA "best dark chocolate" and
CNN/MONEY gave the title of "Worlds Best Chocolate" to this small
company. Numerous other awards surround this quality and mission
driven entrepreneur. Now, in partnering with Mandy Aftel,
the mission and passion of providing everyday luxuries to consumers is
expanded into the very element we are dependent on for life - water.
The History
Both Frederick and Mandy have a deep
affinity for the art and science of alchemy. As friends, they would
convene and chat on their applications of alchemy in their respective
arts; she in perfume, he in chocolate. As discussions developed and
became deeper, it soon became clear that they needed to encompass
the expertise and passion of both. With the idea of infusing an
everyday need with simple luxury, Aftelier Hydrosols was born.
